Operating in eight different countries, Zain serves 50.9 million customers, providing innovative technologies, enterprise solutions, and digital lifestyle communications, which is possible due to a talented workforce exceeding 8,254 employees. Previously known as Mobile Telecommunications Company K.S.C.P, Zain was established by an Amiri decree in 1983. Currently, the company has several shareholders, where Oman Telecommunications Group holds the largest single stake in the Company, with an indirect ownership of 21.9%. This is followed by the Kuwait Investment Authority, which holds a direct stake of 15.9%. The Public Institution for Social Security holds an indirect stake of 6.0%, while Al-Sharq Holding Co. holds an indirect stake of 5.05%.

Al Khatem owns 100% of Atheer.
Zain Tech owns 100% of BIOS, STS and Adfolks (31 December 2024: 65% of Adfolks).
JMTS, MTCB, Zain Sudan, Zain South Sudan, Atheer and SMTC operate the cellular mobile
telecommunications network in Jordan, Bahrain, Sudan, South Sudan, Iraq and the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia (KSA) respectively.
Mada Jordan provides WiMAX services in Jordan.
Zain Tech provides network consultancy and cloud solutions in MENA region.
Zain Venture is engaged in activities of holding companies.
Zain Fintech is engaged in activities of holding companies.
IHS and TASC provide tower infrastructure services.
