Kuwait first , now Saudi Arabia New Partnerships

In October 2018, Zain Group announced the launch of its pioneering Zain Drone entity in Kuwait - which focuses on the delivery of drone-powered solutions. Furthermore, the launch of Zain Drone KSA during the Saudi Arabia Drone Summit in April 2019, marked the first step to expanding Zain Drone’s presence across its regional footprint.

A year into its operations in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, Zain Drone has managed to educate the market about the magnitude of benefits the usage of drones can drive, particularly with respect to asset digitization, operational efficiency, data accuracy and cost cutting while using advanced analytics to help governments and private businesses alike.

These developments are just a few that build on Zain’s leading position in digital innovation across the markets in which it operates.

Zain Drone formed alliances and signed agreements with industry leaders to bolster its position. Among those, an MoU was signed in 2019 with Baker Hughes, one of the world largest oil field services companies, to provide inspection services and solutions for the oil and gas industry and related markets in MENA and Turkey, using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and robotics.

Further, other agreements have been signed with technology leaders, an example of which is the incorporation of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technologies into Zain Drone service offerings. Customers can now experience a fully immersive 3D digital simulated environment for the assets being inspected.

With respect to location-based analytics, Zain Drone partnered with Esri, the world’s leading mapping technology company to provide its ArcGIS solution, a mapping and analytics platform to customers, complementing its existing tools where the potential of data can be unleashed across industries. ArcGIS provides unique capabilities and flexible licensing for applying location-based analytics to business practices, offering greater insights using contextual tools to visualize and analyze data.These above new partnerships follow a Teaming Agreement entered with DroneShield Ltd, a worldwide leader in counter-drone solutions, which will see the companies working together on meeting Zain’s customers’ requirements for counter-drone security solutions in the region.
